Following the resounding success of the “Sparkle and Charm: Canton Enamels of the Qing Dynasty” exhibition held at the CUHK Art Museum from September 2022 to April 2023, the exhibition has embarked on a world tour. The first stop is the Tianjin Museum, starting in early 2024. Titled “Canton Enamels from Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong”, this outreach exhibition showcases over 180 sets of precious Canton enamels from both the CUHK Art Museum and Tianjin Museum. It aims to provide the public with insights into this artistic craft by illustrating its rich history, advanced enamelling techniques, such as the use of colours and various painting methods.
