When Amber and Red Rainstorm Warnings are in force, the Art Museum remains open. If Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the Art Museum will remain open. If Black Rainstorm Warning remains hoisted before normal opening hours of the day, the Art Museum will close. If Black Rainstorm Warning is lowered 3 hours or more before normal closing time of the day, the Art Museum will open as soon as feasible/practicable and safe.

【Outreach Exhibition @ Tianjin Museum】Canton Enamels from Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Following the resounding success of the “Sparkle and Charm: Canton Enamels of the Qing Dynasty” exhibition held at the CUHK Art Museum, the exhibition has embarked on a world tour with Tianjin Museum as the first stop in 2024. Titled “Canton Enamels from Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong”, this outreach exhibition showcases over 180 sets of precious Canton enamels from both the CUHK Art Museum and Tianjin Museum.

Amazing Clay: Masterpieces from the Ceramic Collection of CUHK Art Museum

This exhibition features over 100 finely selected pieces from the Museum’s collection, from Neolithic pottery to ceramics from the Ming and Qing dynasties, covering a period of over 7,000 years, aiming to provide a comprehensive showcase of the history and cultural significance of Chinese ceramics, offering tangible evidence for university teaching and allowing visitors to gain insights into the development of ancient civilisation and history through the lens of ceramic artefacts.

Celebrating the Year of the Dragon

The Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) presents the exhibition “Celebrating the Year of the Dragon”, which will run from 2 February to 31 July 2024. The exhibition features over 50 objects from the Museum’s collection, including jades, oracle bones, metal, ceramics, stone carvings, textiles, scholars’ stationery and rubbings, exploring the iconography of the dragon in ancient Chinese art against the socio-cultural contexts of different times.
