About the Series

How should museums interact with the schools and the constituent community in our rapidly changing world? And how can teachers leverage museums’ resources to further nurture and strengthen students’ 21st century skills through multi-disciplinary museum learning?

The “School X Museum Learning” Lecture Series, co-organized by the Bei Shan Tang Foundation and the Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was launched in July with a seminar featuring local education experts and museum professionals’ insights on museum learning (recordings).  In November and December, we proudly present three more virtual lectures that will feature distinguished speakers from The British Museum, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and 'Make 4 Fun’ Maker Experimental Studio in Taiwan.

We hereby invite you to join us at the upcoming virtual gatherings to explore cutting-edge digital museum learning approaches, teachers’ professional development and engagement as well as school-initiated cross-disciplinary museum programmes. The lecture series aims to demonstrate the diversity of school-museum collaboration and to explore the cross-curricular learning function of museums.
