Venue: Hubei Provincial Museum
The accomplished exhibition “Sparkle and Charm: Canton Enamels of the Qing Dynasty” has embarked on a world tour starting from the CUHK Art Museum. After receiving overwhelming responses from the first two stops, Tianjin Museum and World Expo Museum in Shanghai, it is now on stage at the Hubei Provincial Museum.
Jointly organised by the CUHK Art Museum and Hubei Provincial Museum, the “Splendid Light on Copper: Canton Enamels Collection from Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong” exhibition showcases a total of 136 sets of exquisite Canton enamel pieces from the Art Museum. Across its three sections, the exhibition presents the 200-year evolution, artistic styles and east-meets-west cultural exchanges of Canton enamels. The exhibition aims to captivate audiences by demonstrating the advanced techniques of Canton enamelling, the vibrant colours, and various painting methods.
