“Yuan Blue and White: New Discoveries from Jingdezhen” Lecture Series complements the titled special exhibition. Centered on Yuan blue-and-white porcelain, it invites scholars to explore key archaeological findings, conservation practices, as well as the production, trade, and consumption of Yuan blue-and-white. These perspectives guide audiences to understand Yuan dynasty’s ceramics industry and its cross-cultural exchanges.

Speaker Bio 

Dr. Wang Guanyu is the Objects Curator at the CUHK Art Museum and the curator of the exhibition "Yuan Blue and White". With a background in Archaeology and Art History, she researches the production, trade, and consumption of ancient Chinese ceramics, along with the cross-regional interactions of material cultures.

 

Abstract

This lecture examines the technical achievements, trade, and cross-cultural exchanges reflected in the production and consumption of Yuan blue-and-white porcelain, highlighting its profound global impact.
