The Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) presents the exhibition “When Art Speaks – Treasures of CUHK” to celebrate the University’s 60th anniversary, showcasing 60 treasured artworks to tell the stories of the establishment of the Art Museum; its collections and academic research; and its development and plans to expand with a new wing. Distinguished CUers were invited to learn about selected cultural relics and share their own interpretations in audio recordings.

When Art Speaks: Treasures of CUHK
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the exhibition “When Art Speaks – Treasures of CUHK” will showcase 60 treasured artworks, dating from the Shang dynasty to the near-modern era, including rare imperial porcelain, calligraphy and paintings from Guangdong, and masterpieces by Hong Kong artists.

If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above remains hoisted before normal opening hours of the day, the Art Museum will not open. CUHK and the Palace Museum sign landmark agreement to bolster exchanges
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Palace Museum on 28 June 2023 at the Palace Museum’s Garden of the Palace of Established Happiness for the collaboration on the special exhibition of rare rubbings opening in September 2023. The signing further cements the close relationship between CUHK and the Palace Museum, creating more opportunities for joint research, exhibition curation, professional training and academic exchange.

Every work symbolizes a single water droplet — despite its seemingly weak potency, together they create ripple in the stagnant water.
