Exhibition Catalogue: The Bei Shan Tang Legacy: Chinese Painting

This three-volume exhibition catalogue features 120 ancient Chinese paintings donated or loaned to the Art Museum, CUHK, by Bei Shan Tang. It includes entries and 10 essays written by faculty, alumni and graduate students of the Department of Fine Arts, CUHK. This bilingual catalogue also comes with plates in full colour and the transcription of all inscriptions, colophons and seals of exhibited paintings.

The Art Museum at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Department of Fine Arts, CUHK jointly present the exhibition The Bei Shan Tang Legacy: Chinese Painting from 21 September to 15 December 2019. The exhibition features 120 ancient Chinese paintings donated or lent to the museum by the Bei Shan Tang.

The Bei Shan Tang Legacy: Chinese Painting

From 21 September 2019 to 15 December 2019, the Art Museum is presenting a selection of 120 ancient Chinese paintings donated or lent to the museum by Bei Shan Tang. The selected works, displayed in two phases, showcase the fine artistry and diverse styles of Chinese painting since the Song and Yuan dynasties. Divided into ten sections, including landscapes, bird-and-flower, religion, portraits, lady figures, Yangzhou, Guangdong, and works of women painters.
