When Typhoon Signal No. 1 and No. 3 are in force, the Art Museum remains open. If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted when the Art Museum is open, the Art Museum will close immediately. If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above remains hoisted before normal opening hours of the day, the Art Museum will not open. If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is lowered 3 hours or more before normal closing time of the day, the Art Museum will open as soon as feasible/practicable and safe.

The Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) presents the exhibition 'Hong Kong Impressions' from 7 September to 29 November 2020, featuring over 100 paintings and photographs of old Hong Kong from the 1940s to 1970s.

The exhibition features over 100 paintings and photographs of old Hong Kong from the 1940s to 1970s. Many works are exhibited for the first time, including colored photographs from the 1950s which have been newly acquired by CUHK.

Exhibition Catalogue: Hong Kong Impressions

This exhibition catalogue features 92 paintings and 40 photographs of Hong Kong scenery from the 1940s to 1970s from the collection of the Art Museum, CUHK. It includes essays written by Dr. Pedith Pui Chan and Dr. Vivian Ting Wing Yan. There are entries written by Dr. Pedith Pui Chan, Dr. Vivian Ting Wing Yan, Prof. Josh Yiu and Dr. Phil Chan. This bilingual catalogue also comes with plates in full colour and the transcription of all inscriptions, colophons and seals of exhibited paintings.
